![]() We now have a product called ROTA-FLEX which was designed specifically to address fore and aft. I just emailed TrailAir about the Rotaflex and got the following: The only write I have seen is with Toy Hauler Mag here: Where do you find the Equa-Flex for 199? I can't seem to find it on TrailAir's site ![]() '03 Chevy 2500 HD Crew Cab Duramax S/B, Reese 16K slider, Prodigy, Firestone Ride-Rite air bags, HitchHiker II LS 26.5RL, Trail Air pinbox, TrailAir Equa-Flex Suspension On my HitchHiker, I have the adjustable height suspension and to add the Equa-Flex, I had to install it on the center hole of the suspension mount on all three mounting points which raised the trailer an If you do not have an adjustable height suspension on your trailer it will not raise your trailer. Have heard it does raze the 5er a little is this true. I am thinking about the Equa-Flex, have look at it on there site price $199. I do not know about the Rota-flex pin box, but I do have there same Trailair pin box for 5 years on two 5er's Looks like it may be similar to a Moryde pin box? I have the Equa-Flex suspension on my 07 Cedar Creek and well please with it. It has a "proprietary rubber compound" in the box that is suppose to absorb much of the fore to aft motion. Called Trailair and they sent me a one page brochure with somewhat limited info.(I could not find any info on Trailair web site) List price is $745 and can be UPS shipped. I first saw it in the March 07 issue of Trailer Life on page 64. Has anyone had any experience with the new Rota-Flex pin box that Trailair makes. I cannot believe the difference in TV has made.RV.Net Open Roads Forum: Fifth-Wheels: Rota-Flex Pin Box by Trailair Open Roads Forum Since this happening, I have purchased a new truck (08) and the new 08 pulls the trailer extremely better than the 05 I had. I have a real sore attitude toward the FA hitch. Finally figured that no one knew what they were offering for sale, nor the particuliars of the product and had the pin pulled off and the OEM re-installed. Sent countless emails to FA and was never answered and/or ignored. He was supposedly FA's "magician" and could solve all issues. Called Sonny several times and was not ever called back. We went down the road with a slight sway. I am no authority on trailers and axles, but I can understand the reason for two axles. The final alledged solution from the dealer ended up with a huge rake in the front end putting all the weight on the rear axle. One guy said was the truck and purchase a new one. One guy said was the wrong fifth airborne hitch, and the FA factory said it was. They raised the pin box on the RV, they lowered the hitch in the truck. :ford:The dealer that installed the unit never could get the "match made in heaven" with the truck no matter what they did. Our 5'er is a McKenzie Madallion 36RLT weighing 14300 with a pin wt 0f 2880 lbs. I imagine the other air pin boxes would work very similar, but I certainly feel that my Fifth Airborne is a good investment. ![]() Now the ride is much smoother - I can see in the rear view mirror that the air bag/shock absorber are taking up a lot of the motion. We used to feel a lot of up and down movement from the pin to the rear axle, also forward and back movements when the 5'er took bumps at different times. My wife and I were both amazed - the ride is 90% smoother than before the Fifth Airborne. I put in the new airbag, and we took a 400 mile round trip over this past weekend. I called Fifth Airborne on MLK day and told them of the problem, they said they would ship out a new bag - I told them I was planning a trip with the Grand-kids that weekend, and they sent it by DHL express (GREAT SERVICE). I installed it, then found that the firestone airbag they sent with it was defective and had a large leak. I ordered mine on line (Tweetys) and had it within a week. Another consideration that I had was that I have a 2 inch receiver welded to the side of my pin-box to hold my bike rack - The only air pin-box that would allow this was the Fifth Airborne. That left me with the modified pin-boxes - It made sense to me that an air-bag and shock absorber would work better than just rubber blocks and gravity (Mor-ryde type). I read the air hitches are better, but I like my Reese Signature 18K hitch, as I can break it down and remove it myself to get a "clean bed" for moving things in the truck - the air hitches are all very heavy and I couldn't remove them myself. I looked for a long time deciding how to improve our ride in our F-350.
